Evolve Dance Academy History

Evolve Dance Academy was established in 1999 as The Victoria Jane School of Dance by Victoria Jane Hughes in Radlett and St Albans, Hertfordshire. Victoria offered classes to all ages in Disco Freestyle, Rock n Roll, and Street Dance, taking pupils all across the UK to compete in regional and national ISTD Dance Competitions.

In September 2016, the school was taken over by Tina, a teacher who had worked closely with Victoria since 2012. In keeping with the school’s excellent standards of teaching in a professional, fun, friendly, and safe environment, the school continued to expand with the introduction of new dance genres as well as GCSE Dance to all pupils. The school was given a new look and officially changed its name to become Evolve Dance Academy, “a professional academy with all dance genres under one roof,” and moved into its very own dance studio!

In September 2022, Tina relocated to Hampshire, taking EDA to a new location.

Today, Evolve Dance Academy stands as a beacon of excellence and creativity in the dance community. We offer a wide range of private dance classes including Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, and Street Dance, catering to all skill levels from beginners to advanced dancers.

Our dedicated team of professional instructors bring a wealth of experience and passion to every class. They are committed to providing personalized attention to each student, helping them to achieve their full potential. Whether students are dancing for fun, fitness, or pursuing a professional career, we provide the guidance and support they need to succeed.
In addition to our regular classes, we organize workshops, masterclasses, and dance camps featuring guest instructors from renowned dance companies and the entertainment industry. These opportunities allow our students to broaden their horizons, learn new techniques, and gain inspiration from some of the best in the field.

We have had some great success stories with past and present pupils performing in the West End, local performances and continuing their training at professional dance and drama colleges. We also have dancers ranking in the top 7 in the country taking part in National ISTD Freestyle Competitions!
