Exams

Evolve Dance Academy follows the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) syllabus’s.

Exam work is taught within class times and we offer examinations in all genres that we teach. Students selected to take their examination are required to attend a minimum of 6 weeks of classes prior to their examination so that they do not fall behind on their training. Private lessons are also offered to students taking their examination that would like extra training.

Graded Examinations

ISTD and IDTA Graded examinations are government recognized with the ISTD examinations being accredited by the QCA. Exams can be quoted on UCAS applications.
Graded exams require 12 – 18 months of training and students who are ready to take their examination will be selected by their class teacher.

Graded exams are offered from Grade 1-6 with optional vocational grades of intermediate being offered once Grade 6 has been taken.

EDA currently offers ISTD & IDTA Graded examinations in the following genres: Disco Freestyle, Ballet and Tap Dance.

Private tuition in ISTD & IDTA Modern is also available.

Medal Tests and Class Examinations

ISTD & IDTA medal tests and class examinations may also be taken by students selected to take their examinations. Medal tests are offered from the age of 4 years old. Medal Test exams require approximately 12 months of training.

We currently offer ISTD & IDTA Medal Test examinations in the following dance genres: Disco Freestyle, Rock n Roll, Street Dance, Tap and Ballet.
